STORYBOARDS vs PREVIS — SIDE-BY-SIDE COMPARISON:
CLICK-THROUGH BOARDS:
Establishing shot – it is sunset, the work day is coming to an end. Camera tilts down.
Long shot – some kids are still playing. Kid #1 is about to kick a football into the goal.
Tracking shot – camera follows the ball as it hits the fence. Parked on the street behind is a yellow car.
Medium close-up – there is a woman smoking and on her phone.
The woman (Tina) exhales and outs her phone down, looking ahead.
Suddenly, she notices something in her side mirror.
Shot of side mirror – there is a car turning around the corner.
Tina looks from her side mirror to her rear-view mirror. There are motorbikes joining the car too.
Close-up – Tina moves the gearstick forwards.
Long shot – Tina turns a corner.
Long shot – the other vehicles turn too, following Tina.
Long shot – Tina drives away, with the motorbikes and car on her tail. Camera trucks left.
Long shot – Camera tracks Tina’s car. A motorbike is catching up to her.
Medium shot – Tina glances at the motorcyclist to her right.
Full shot – Tina’s car in the middle, driving towards camera.
Medium close-up – another motorcyclist is next to Tina. She needs to get rid of them somehow.
Close-up – Tina pulls the handbrake to drift around the corner.
Medium close-up – Tina turns the wheel.
Tina’s car turns around the corner, but she still hasn’t been able to shake the motorcycles or car.
Shot from under the car – they are too close for comfort.
Full shot – Tina is heading for a red light, where a train is about to pass.
Extreme close-up – deciding that this is her only chance at losing them, Tina goes full speed ahead.
Full shot – the others aren’t backing down either and are still trying to stop her.
Close-up – Tina puts her foot down on the gas pedal to speed up.
Extreme close-up – Tina’s determined to cross the train track.
Full shot – train coming towards camera. Tina’s car enters the frame.
Tina successfully goes over the train track. The other vehicles enter the frame.
The train hits the car and a motorcycle.
Camera pans around to follow the train as it goes off into the distance.
Medium close-up – Tina looks back with a smirk. She managed to get away.
Extreme long shot – Tina’s car driving off into the distance. The sun sets fully.
RANI
ANIMATIC:

Establishing shot of palace.
We see a balcony from within the palace.
There’s a girl leaning on the balcony edge under a dome.
Camera pans up and we see Rani looking bored.
Rani yawns. She’s really bored.
Rani looks up when she hears a bell ring in the distance. It sounds like a boat!
Rani runs off to see the boat.
She looks out excitedly over the balcony.
Close-up of Rani; her grin grows wider.
Rani runs off.
We see what Rani was seeing; a boat pulling in.
Rani runs towards the camera.
Rani runs away from the camera, towards the stairs heading down.
Rani makes her way down the stairs.
Rani puts her shoes on.
Hopping slightly, she runs towards the palace exit.
Rani is running past a pedestal with a decorative pot.
Rani knocks into the pot.
The pot almost falls, but she catches it, thankfully.
Rani carefully places it back on the pedestal.
She makes sure it’s placed properly.
The bell rings again. The pot wobbles again.
This time as she starts running again, her skirt hits the pot without her realising.
The pot falls and breaks, but she doesn’t care.
We see the shattered pot.
Rani runs towards the exit.
Rani looks down at the harbour, seeing the boat pull in.
Taking a deep breath, Rani heads down the steps.
